Erland Cooper has released the first track from his upcoming album which is due for release next year. The track, Maalie (which takes its name from the Orcadian dialect for the Fulmar bird), features guitars from Leo Abrahams and hardanger violin and vocals from Charlotte Greenhow.
The album was mixed in the Big Room by Erland and Oli Jacobs in just two days. Mixes were crafted without plugins – using only the outboard equipment, reverbs and the console – no automation or recall. It was mastered by Guy Davie at Electric Mastering and is due for release in early 2018.
London duo, Blue Lab Beats have announced the release of their debut album ‘Xover’, accompanied by the release of two singles – Dome and Pineapple. The album was recorded at Real World as part of our partnership with Bowers and Wilkins’ Society of Sound by staff engineer, Patrick Phillips.
NK-OK (also known as Namali Kwaten) says ‘I can honestly say that recording at Real World was our best experience so far. The building and room, the shape of it and the peace with the water outside really helped the creativity. Plus the visit from the swan of course! We worked 12 hour days and they passed by so quickly.’
