Fistful Of Mercy
'As I Call You Down', the debut release from Fistful of Mercy - a collaboration between Ben Harper, Dhani Harrison and Joseph Arthur has prompted Real World Records to look in the archive and pull out this video of Joseph Arthur mixing his album 'Come To Where I'm From' in The Big Room with Tchad Blake and assorted dogs.
No sheep in the dining room
There was a slight sense of disappointment that the man who appeared at lunch yesterday dressed as a sheep did not materialise again today. Nevertheless the 'Cannellini Beans and Pepper Stew' fresh from Jerome's kitchen seemed to raise everyone's spirits.
Farewell Asia
We said a sad farewell to Asia (Joanna Popowicz) last friday as her time with us here at Real World Studios came to an end. She went out on a high note, engineering a session with legendary producer John Leckie, but there have been many great recording sessions during her year at the studios.
We wish her well.
Rumour has it...
If you had the ability to see through the lead lined walls of The Big Room at Real World Studios - seen here peeking out of Wiltshire's late summery greenery - you might catch a glimpse of legendary producer John Leckie working on a project for Real World Records.
You may know of John Leckie from his work with John Lennon, George Harrison, Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Elastica, Cast, Kula Shaker, Spiritualized, The Verve, Dr John, Cowboy Junkies or even The Stone Roses - but the you'd be forgetting Razorlight, New Order, Doves and many more.
In short, he's man who knows his music and whenever he turns his attention to Real World Records you can expect something special. Portico Quartet's 'Isla' is his most recent venture for us, but there's also great music from Papa Wemba, Rizwan-Muazzam Qawwali, Pandit Shiv Kuma Sharma and Ashkhabad to be discovered in the catalogue.
The Apples - Looking For Trouble at Real World
Fresh from performing at this summer's Secret Garden Party and en route to the Jazz Café in London's Camden town, The Apples made a detour for a number of days to Real World Studios and set up for recording in The Big Room.
The room suited ideally the band's determination to keep it live - even in recordings. Working at break-neck pace a whole set of new material was recorded especially for the B&W Society of Sound. The sophistication and depth of the music fully realised in this new acoustic space.

Server downtime
Apologies for the loss of service, we had a few gremlins in the servers which took us off the air for a few hours. We've had a team of elf fumigators at work and so as the air clears we are gradually returning to normal service.
Little Axe in The Big Room
Their new album 'Bought For A Dollar, Sold For A Dime' is out soon on Real World Records
Guy Garvey's finest hour
Guy Garvey was at Real World Studios last week, you can hear all about it in his latest show on BBC 6 Music.
We also managed to get him in front of a camera to talk about Elbow's cover of Peter Gabriel's 'Mercy Street' as art of the 'Scratch My Back Project'
