Things to do
Bath – 15-minute drive
A UNESCO World Heritage city, Bath is rich in history and architectural beauty, and offers plenty of excellent shops, bars and restaurants. The famous Komedia, the Forum and the Pavilion regularly host gigs.
Bristol – 45-minute drive
With its vibrant music scene, Bristol offers a wide selection of gigs most nights, as well as a huge choice of pubs and restaurants, and two large shopping centres.
Stunning countryside
The countryside in which Real World sits is criss-crossed by public footpaths linking local villages. Walk up the river path from the studio, for example, and four hours later you’ll reach Castle Combe, the quintessential Cotswold village that’s been the filming location for countless period dramas. There are also lots of mapped cycle paths and quiet lanes for exploration on two wheels.
Exercise and well-being
For those on a budget, nearby Corsham has an excellent municipal recreation centre. The superb TeamBath University facilities are open to the public on a ‘pay and play’ basis.
There are plenty of miscellaneous activities to choose from in Box, Bath and the surrounding area, including hot-air ballooning, horse riding, fishing and, of course, the local pub.
